Oceanside’s Write On 2026

I had the opportunity a couple weeks back to once again participate in the author component of Oceanside’s annual Write On. I’ve mentioned it before, so I’ll quickly remind everyone of how much I enjoy this day. Not only because it lets me feel like an author and connect with other authors as well, but also because it celebrates writing as a whole. Classes are taught, awards are given, stories are read, and from young to old, people of all ages are there to appreciate words and those who write them.

Keep a look out to attend next year (more people would make the event even better), or look in your own communities for similar arts events to attend. The staff (and volunteers) who put these kinds of things together put in so much of their own time and efforts and deserve a huge thanks for what they do. So keep writing and reading and supporting community events!

Tali Nay

Tali Nay always wanted to be a fiction writer and was thus surprised when "real life" is what came out when she actually sat down to write something substantial. Tali studied writing in college, and then—entirely by accident—found herself working in business. She went on to earn an MBA, although recently left Corporate America in order to pursue her dream of becoming a gemologist. After a stint in New York City earning her diploma at the GIA, Tali now works in the gemology industry and lives in San Diego, California.
