From the Snow to the Desert

After my unexpectedly snowy adventure in May, it was nice to get some desert time over Memorial Day weekend. I don’t always love the heat, but this was about a max of 95 each day, which feels great in the morning, and is still totally do-able in the afternoon shade. Yes, there were pools, there was golf, there was delicious food, but my favorite part was reclining on the patio chairs. Soaking up that not-too-hot heat while napping and reading (a phenomenal book I’ll blog about later), it was the epitome of relaxing.

Palm Springs is truly one of the best getaway locations, one that’s only a couple hours away yet feels like it is somewhere completely different. And I always bring books, magazines, notepads for ideas, or even my computer to write. Being relaxed does lend itself to creativity. Already looking forward to the next trip! (And the next patio nap.)

Tali Nay

Tali Nay always wanted to be a fiction writer and was thus surprised when "real life" is what came out when she actually sat down to write something substantial. Tali studied writing in college, and then—entirely by accident—found herself working in business. She went on to earn an MBA, although recently left Corporate America in order to pursue her dream of becoming a gemologist. After a stint in New York City earning her diploma at the GIA, Tali now works in the gemology industry and lives in San Diego, California.
